Sažetak
Croatia is going through a post-transitional stage in demographic development, marked by a fall in fertility, natural depopulation (negative natural growth), emigration depopulation, total depopulation (since 1990) and pronounced aging of the population. These processes have already lasted for a while making the demographic situation very unfavorable. Contemporary demographic tendencies in Croatia reflect past social and economic patterns and are connected to the broader European trends.
