Sažetak
Yates's novel "Revolutionary Road" (1962) is typically read as a story of suburban malaise and critique of the American (suburban) life in the 1950s. This paper provides a Lacanian reading of the text as a story of lack (of identity) and of the unattainable desire to create an identity regardless or in spite of the Law (the socially constructed Symbolic order).
