Sažetak
Among the fibres, cotton has been preferable one for many years, but the production of new functional fibres slightly changed its domination. At a time, the polypropylene was favoured due to its low water absorption and good wicking properties. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the parameters related to the heat and water vapour transfer of knitted fabrics produced from cotton/modal, viscose and Tencel® yarns.Considering the results of water vapour resistance and water vapour permeability in standard conditions, it could be also seen that cotton/modal fabric provides highest resistance to the transfer of water vapour (sweat) from the skin to the environment. Tencel®, again provides lowest resistance to the transfer of sweat what makes it the most desirable fabric for the production of summerwear among the investigated fabrics.
