Sažetak
Washing process is complex due to presence of many influencing parameters presented by the Sinner cycle. The composition of treated textiles, the presence of elastane yarns, the membranes in medical textiles and protective workwear, the type of finishing and coloration applied, degree and distribution of stains on the textiles have also an impact on the selection of washing conditions. It is important to control the quality in order to make corrections and optimization of particular parameters with the intention of achieving satisfactory washing performance. Quality improvement is of the prime importance due to the economic benefit, appearance and functionality during maintenance and wear. The control criteria according to SMILES approach is dependant upon textiles composition. Quality control protocol of cotton textiles (CO) subscribe testing of breaking strength, chemical wear, whiteness degree and incineration residue. The evaluation of blends (CO/PES) after multiple washing is performed by testing of whiteness and tint. Testing of CO and CO/PES textiles after 25 and 50 washing cycles would be performed on lab and on full scale. The impact of ironing on the quality of textiles would also be analysed on lab and full scale. The improvement in consumption, (energy and water) must be done at constant quality or better improvement of quality. That’s the reason why SMILES will precise the way to quantify the performances of an industrial laundry process and its hygienic performance. The performance of laundry processes, characterizing wear and aspects can be measured thanks to several tools. These tools are under control, although the protocols to perform theses measurement have to be précised for the industrial laundries. However, the hygiene is more difficult to manage and quantify. Actually the most common standard used around Europe is the EN 14065. Since hygiene is measured on living organisms it does not exist actually, really fast biomonitor. SMILES intends to offer an application guide and protocols in order to qualify and quantify all performances of the industrial laundry processes.
