Sažetak
The paper deals with the concept of business ethics and its relationship to social responsibility as a framework for contemporary business practice. The text examines the paradoxes of combining interest-dominated economic activity with ethically responsible behaviour in the context of societal normativity. Adherence to certain ethical standards in relation to all stakeholders contributes to positive reputation important for the economic success of a company. A (re)structuring of organizational culture – on the basis of Ronald Sims’ description of short and long-term measures for building a positive reputation – is recommended for achieving viable standards for ethically acceptable corporate behaviour.
