Sažetak
A chorological analysis of species of the genus Iris represented in the flora of Croatia was carried out on the basis of details in the literature and in herbaria (the ZA, ZAHO and LJU herbaria). During the work, a revision of the nomenclature of taxa of the genus Iris was carried out, with the outcome that this genus can be considered to be represented in Croatia by 14 species: Iris croatica I. Horvat et M. Horvat, I. germanica L. (incl. I. florentina L. p.p.), I. graminea L., I. illyrica Tomm., I. pallida Lam., I. pseudacorus L., I. pseudopallida Trinajstić, I. pseudopumila Tineo (incl. I. adriatica Trinajstić), I. pumila L., I. reichenbachii Heuff., I. x rotschildii Degen, I. x sambucina L., I. sibirica (incl. I. errirhiza Pospich.) i I. variegata L. Of these, the following species are endemic to the flora of Croatia: I. croatica, I. illyrica, I. pseudopallida, I. pseudopumila and I. rotschildii. According to the Red List of Plant Species of the Republic of Croatia, five species of the genus Iris are endangered according to several IUCN classification levels: I. croatica and I. variegata are rare (R), I. illyrica is a vulnerable species (V), while I. sibirica and I. pseudopumila are threatened taxa. Only references in the literature have been found for the species I. reichenbachii and I. pumila, and there is doubt as to whether they really exist in the flora of Croatia. A total of 844 references about finds of members of the genus Iris in Croatia have been collected. Of these, 698 items are from the literature (82.7%), and 146 are from herbarium collections (17.3%). The positions of the finding sites assembled have been determined by the application of indirect mapping with the assistance of the MTB network, with the aid of which distribution maps of the species of the genus Iris determined in the flora of Croatia are displayed. It was not possible to define coordinates for localities determined imprecisely, and these are recorded only on the list of finding sites.
