Sažetak
Emotions are described as evidence of psychological perception, which point out to our relations with the environment. They provide emotional balance of children's psychological life and when are positive, they support the children's opinion and action, and its makes his existence creative. Emotions are our first language and communication system with environment. Differentiation of emotional states occurs under the influence of maturation, socialization and cognitive development. Feelings evolve as a result of the relationship modifications and mutual influence with parents, brothers and sisters in childhood, during the process of creating relations with the adult figures. Good enough environment allows optimal emotional development. Disorders in childhood involving emotions appear in two broad categories - external disorders and internal disturbances. Family of the child with visual impairment must emotionally confront the difficulties yet in the earliest days of child's life. Due to that, parents can hardly engage in affective communication with the child. Children with visual impairment often develop specific emotional reactions. According to previous research, emotional difficulties are more often reported in children with visual impairment than in children from general population. The aim of this research was to determine the existence of emotional problems and specific emotional reactions in children with visual impairment. On the sample of 40 children with isolated visual impairment, age 4 to 11 years, were obtained results that show significant difference in presence and shape of emotional problems.
