Sažetak
To present education for low vision assisstent, optical low vision devices we get during the education, to present posibility to try and practise before they buy OLD or being prescribed. In rehabilitation we realize that some legaly blind children and adults are not use low vision optical devices, mostly due to being uninformed or high price of LVOD. Those patient are rather sent for the retraining for another profesion and for different rehab programs for blind patients. Large amount legaly blind patient have useful vision and using optical and nonoptical low vision devices can use such a little vision for daily living acitivities like reading newspaper , painting, handcrafts, reading bus number etc. Due to high price of low vision optical devices, it would be nice to allow to try first and find adequate device for concrete activity to solve the patient’s problem. Low vision and severe low vision children and adults in need. Many low vision patient could reed large print, but the problem is there is no large print everywhere, reading bus number or traffic light are not seen well. Optical low vision devices can help for some activities. Triing in concrete situation can help which one to choose. Using optical and non optical low vision devices can help in daily living activities. Needs for them a big, but there is a feeling that Blind and low vision patient in Croatia using them less than in rest of Europe.
