Sažetak
Through the development of Web 2.0, the Semantic Web and especially Web 3.0, more and more data describing various social systems accumulated on the Web. This lecture will focus on social and semantic networks' data which provide interesting insights into the our world. The lecture will tackle some of the important data collection challenges on the Web (semistructured data, XPath as a semistructured data query language, AJAX and the client-side content generation problem, various API-s, etc.), tools and technologies which allow for automated and semiautomated data collection (Scrapy, XPather, Selenium, Needlebase, etc.), and provide some formal models useful for data analysis (tripartite ontology model - folksonomy, network matrices, logic programming). A practical example of a Web mining project regarding the analysis of the Croatian scientific bibliography as a Web 3.0 system will be presented in the end.
