Sažetak
Fault statistics show that single-phase-to-earth faults (briefly called earth faults) are the most common faults in electricity distribution networks. Earth fault current magnitude depends primarily on the value of fault resistance, but also neutral point treatment, voltage level, total capacitive current of the network, and on the distance between the supply busbars and the fault location. This paper addresses the effects of fault resistance at the fault point on voltages and currents. A wide range of the fault resistances up to 20 kΩ was analysed. Transient and temporary overvoltages are discussed as well.
