Sažetak
Traffic noise and its influence on the environment is an important factor to be considered when it comes to developing, upgrading, and maintaining national road networks. This paper describes the design process of the road traffic noise protection barriers on the planned section of state road D31, a road that will help to connect the fast growing city of Velika Gorica with Croatia's capital Zagreb and highway A3 (E70). The influence of planned road section on environmental noise situation was defined by means of noise maps. Traffic noise calculations were conducted by means of noise prediction software, using German RLS 90 and European interim road traffic noise prediction method. In addition, this paper describes input data used for noise prediction and data sources for both calculation methods. Also, comments on the usability of the calculation results and the choice of protection measures are given.
