Sažetak
The main purpose of this paper is to explore the influence of economic structure transformation on mutual trade in Russia and Southeast European countries. The economic structures of Southeast European countries and Russia in the last two decades have changed towards service sectors where the shares of agriculture and industry production in the total gross value added have declined. The common characteristic for all countries is a rather quick liberalization of their international trade and developed intense mutual trade relations. Although the EU-27 is a main trading partner for Southeast European countries, the newest trends confirm considerable trade growth among Southeast European countries themselves as well as between Southeast European countries and Russia. The analysis of demand structure and recovery from the crisis shows that the formerly predominant role of external demand is weakening somewhat, while both household consumption and investments are contributing to GDP growth.
