Sažetak
The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is a nonspecific test for monitoring infections, inflammatory diseases and some types of cancer. ESR values, for the first hour, are normally within 2-13 mm/hr for man and within 4-24 mm/hr for women. Since the introduction of automated analyzers into the clinical laboratory, the ESR test has been automatically performed, and results, safety and reliability of ESR procedures have improved. The aim of our study was to perform the inter-assay comparability for ESR obtained on two different automated analyzers and conventional Westergren method.
