Sažetak
The aim of the paper is to present summarized literature data that would result in a first systematic inventory of croatian freshwater Chlorophyceae taxa. The list is a result of the autors, investigations as well as a detailed analyses of more then one hundred papers, published in the period 1900 to 1996. Degree of saprobity is included for all indicator species. The list of freshwater Chlorophyceae consists of 97 genera with 412 species. Species indicators of o, o-ß, and ß-mesosaprobity are predominant (95%). The most comon species in the investigated biotopes were: Crucigenia rectangularis Gay., Coelastrum astroideum De Not., Scenedesmus acuminatus Chod., S. quadricauda Br b., S. obliquus Kütz., Closterium acerosum Ehr., C. aciculare West, and Cosmarium botrytis Menegh.
