Sažetak
In this paper we expand the existing research on knowledge transfer from academia to the business sector in life sciences. We develop a comprehensive individual-level conceptual model in which we distinguish between the “traditional” and the “new-type” knowledge transfer activities in assessing their role in formal and informal sharing of scientific knowledge. We provide a broad perspective on knowledge flows, by considering both the individual and environmental determinants of different forms of collaborative efforts among researchers. The study contributes to the ongoing debates on the impact of commercial considerations at academic institutions on adherence to the norms of open science.
