Sažetak
Contemporary and modern implantology, thanks to the concept of the new design and the surface of the implant, is mostly dealt with the issue of pre-implant surgery. The book „BONE REFORMATION – contemporary bone augmentation procedures in oral and maxillofacial implant surgery “ is based on different technique and clinical solutions of the bone deficiency treatments in the upper and lower jaw for the dental implant placement. It is divided in 4 main chapters: harvesting of bone grafts, reconstruction of the atrophic edentulous jaw, reconstruction of the partially dentate jaw and biological aspects of reconstructive surgery and implant integration. Authors Stefan Lundgren and Lars Sennerby, respected and cited experts in the field of dental implantology, are introducing their own views on the biological principles and clinical procedures in the alveolar ridge augmentation. The book, due to their multiannual collaboration and results attained by clinical and scientific research, is focused on the technique development in the field of the alveolar ridge augmentation and successful osseointegration of inserted dental implants. The book contains didactic and scenically presentations of the different augmentation techniques of the bone deficiency in the upper and lower jaw. Overviews of technique and conclusions are based on the results of numerous clinical and scientific studies. Surgical technique and supported instruments are shown in more than 400 photographs and illustrations on the principle step-by-step presentation, which helps any experienced practitioner in the field of dental implantology, and makes clinical work easier. Complex and severe clinical situations are explained and shown in detail using combination of alveolar ridge augmentation technique and distraction osteogenesis technique. Authors view of the reconstractive orofacial surgery field is based on principles of successful implant-prosthetic therapy in almost every patient. More than 20 published scientific studies and 15 years of experience in the reconstructive alveolar surgery stand as a solid basis and gives guarantees on the book quality „BONE REFORMATION – contemporary bone augmentation procedures in oral and maxillofacial implant surgery“.
