Sažetak
The City of Zagreb as the capital of the Republic of Croatia is participating in the European programme CIVITAS ELAN, that is funded by the FP7 programme. CIVITAS ELAN aims to improve the quality of life of citizens by establishing quality solutions in city traffic by promoting and encouraging sustainable, clean and energy efficient ways of traffic. The paper will present the work on the measure that has the main objective of implementing a high-quality mobility corridor in Zagreb. A high-quality mobility corridor represents traffic conditions in which public transport, bicycle lanes and pedestrians have priority over individual motorized traffic. Measure workflow will also be presented: data collection, traffic system modelling, analysis and calibration and traffic flow simulation. The demonstration corridor was primary chosen due to a very complex current traffic situation. This is one of the most congested traffic arteries with 8 tram lines, not physically separated from individual traffic. Simulation and evaluation of the basic traffic parameters will be conducted in a situation where personal motorised traffic is distributed to newly completed parallel street, and so making primary street more public transport, pedestrian and cyclist friendly.
