Sažetak
The increasing demand for conservation of nalural resources and environmental protection has forced researches to find altematives to current technologies in order to reduce water consumpfion, increase energy-efficiency and eut emissions of hazardous chemicals. Currently, textite wet processes assisted by ultrasound are of htgh interest for the textile industry. The surfaee modification of polyester fabric made of poly(ethylene•terphthalate) (PET) is performing for better aosorbency, and therefore, better fabric comfort. The conventional modifications of e.g. aminolysis with EDA and hydrolysis with NaOH. produce huge amounts of textite wastewater. Tribomechanical activation of zeolites, clinoptilolite is grinding to sub-miero level, including activation proeess of nanoparticles. as well. Impregnation of textile material with zeolite nanoparticles, it increases the active surface area, antimicrobial and UV protection, and its fiame retardancy. Therefore, in this paper polyester fabric designed for summer garments, was modified by different power and frequency of ultrasound with and without addition of activated natural zeolite. The characterization of surtace and chemical composition of such treated polyester fabrics was performed applying instrumental methods - seanning electron microseopy (SEM) and FTIR-ATR spectroscopy. The contad angle and adsorption ability of water and optical brighteners were determined as well.
