Sažetak
In this paper we are proposing proactive network maintenance method by enabling early recognition of telephone copper pairs that are affected by humidity. To enable simultaneous measurement of a large number of telephone lines, Principal Component Analysis is applied to collected DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) parameters and correlated with humidity data. This method allows for high precision pair classification and early dispatching of field repair units to fix the cables that display specific behavior, eliminating the need for customer’s report.
