Sažetak
Knjiga uvodi u suvremeno poimanje kateheze u Crkvi i teologiji te prikazuje različita područja katehetskog promišljanja i djelovanja koja obilježavaju današnji trenutak Crkve i društva. Knjiga se sastoji od pet poglavlja. Prvo poglavlje bavi se temeljnim pojmovima i polazištima katehetskog diskursa. Drugo poglavlje prikazuje suvremena žarišta i brizantne teme katehetskog i religijskopedagoškog promišljanja u Europi i u Hrvatskoj. Ujedno naznačuje temeljne koordinate kateheze i religioznog odgoja u naše vrijeme. U trećem poglavlju propituje se stanje kateheze u Hrvatskoj, na temelju empirijskih ispitivanja i dobivenih uvida. Tumačenjem podataka istodobno se ukazuje na nužnost novih zaokreta i pravce novih usmjerenja kateheze u Hrvatskoj. Četvrto poglavlje povezuje katehezu Crkve i školski vjeronauk kao posebno mjesto pedagoškog služenja Crkve mladim naraštajima i društvu u cjelini, usredotočujući pozornost na odnos između vjeronauka, vjeoručitelja i vjeroučiteljica i župnih zajednica. Pri tome se otkrivaju izvori mogućih nesporazuma i napetosti te očituje nužnost međusobne upućenosti i suradnje. Posljednje poglavlje pokazuje značenje i suvremene modele školskog vjeronauka u europskom kontekstu te osvjetljuje pitanja koja razvoji u suvremenom društvu, obrazovanju i znanosti upućuju Crkvi i njezinoj teologiji kroz prizmu školskog vjeronauka.

The book „In the service of the maturity of the faith and of the growth of persons - Reflections on religious education and catechetical issues in contemporary context ” deals with contemporary understanding of catechesis in the Church and theology, and shows different areas of catechetical reflection and action that characterize the current moment of the Church and society. The book consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with basic concepts and starting points of catechetical discourse. The second chapter presents a contemporary focus and the most discussed catechetical themes and religious-educational thinking in Europe and Croatia. At the same time it indicates the basic coordinates of catechesis and religious education in our time. The third chapter examines the state of catechesis in Croatia, based on empirical tests and insights obtained. The fourth chapter connects the catechesis of the Church and school religious education as a special place of the pedagogical service of the Church to young generations and society as a whole, focusing attention on the relationship between religious education in schools, the teachers of religion and parish communities. The last chapter shows the relevance and contemporary models of religious education in schools in a European context. It also illuminates those questions that all the new development in modern society, in education and in science ask the Church and its theology through the prism of religious education in schools.
