Sažetak
This paper explores the possibilities and concepts for presenting the archaeological site of the medieval castle at Donja Stubica, Croatia. The castle was demolished in the eighteenth century ; the site has been preserved (unbuilt) until today without, however, any visible above-ground remains. The medieval castle at Donja Stubica appertains to the group of archaeological sites with few, if any, preserved architectonic remains ; the paper explores the potential models of interpretation applicable to the archaeological sites with a reduced ability of presentation in situ. The possibilities of presentation have been illustrated by comparing the archaeological site of Stari Grad with relevant examples of presentation and interpretation of archaeological sites in situ. Furthermore, the paper explores the urban integration of the archaeological site of Stari Grad. The paper represents the basis for additional spatial valorisation of the site of Stari Grad at Donja Stubica.
