Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to examine the transport supply of the public tram passenger transport services in the City of Zagreb for a five-year period from 2004 – 2008. In addition to the transport capacities supplied (the total number of trams, the total number of passenger seats, and the total number of seat- kilometers available), the traffic indicators under consideration include: total mileage dynamics, average age, and operational reliability. The research problem is focused on the study of the correlation between indicators of transport supply and passenger transportation demand trends and dynamics, as expressed in the number of passengers carried in the system. The research problem and subject matter of research is based on the hypothesis that claims that transport services provided correspond to the passenger transportation demand. The hypothesis has mostly been confirmed. The methodology applied in this paper includes: mathematical and statistical methods, analysis and synthesis methods, modeling method, and the Microsoft Excel computer software. Since this is a quantitative research, dynamic parameters are used for determining the average annual growth rate and the trends in transport supply and demand indicators in the public passenger transport system.
