Sažetak
The paper analyzes an outline design of the new technologically improved tanker structure. The paper first part presents short comparative analysis of transitional types of structures from classical ship hull structure to UGS (Unidirectional Girder System) type structure. As a result of comparative analysis a family of substantially improved hull structures (KB2M, KB3M, ....., KBXM) is defined. Analyzed family of transitional type KBXM structures is applied in ship cargo area and major structural details are shown. The most critical detail of the KBXM structure is analyzed using Finite Elements Method. Defining structural details of the KBXM structure in cargo area the macrostructural elements are defined. The particular feature of structure macroelements is high technological production quality that enables faster hull erection.
