Sažetak
The work deliberates on some of the characteristics and the manifold influences of native music on a multicultural society in the system of primary education. Initial partial results of the comparative analysis research shaw that (1) pupils from urban areas have acquired some cognisance and knowledge on native music, (2) that their general cognisance on national traditional music is sparser and less consistent, (3) that their general understanding of multicultural music and the music of Croatian national minorities is also modest and that (4) awareness of and a need for following and occupying oneself with various forms of traditional music are present only in traces in pupils.
