Sažetak
Wireless mobile networks are constantly upgraded to offer more advanced data transfer ultimately resulting in ever higher throughput for individual devices and network as a whole alike. At the same time, data processing capabilities are continously upgraded to keep up with the requirements imposed by high data rates and advancements in services offered to the users.Cognitive radio is one of such technologies and it should offer completely adaptable communication services, good measurement capabilities and high processing power somewhere in the range of today’s personal computers, all packaged in a small mobile device. One of the possible uses of these new capabilities are environment mapping and localization, which can then be used to accurately predict radio links and bring smart routing and physical layer optimization to a new level.
