Sažetak
Economic characteristics of tourism as a factor stimulating economic development in individual countries are reflected in the expansion of economic relations with foreign countries, in promoting regional development, job creation, the additional sales of products in the domestic market, the valorization of cultural and historical values​​, etc. Relationship between the transport system and tourism stems from the complexity of features and functions of these two economic activities. Although the transport system appears regularly as a factor limiting the development or improvement of tourism, their relationship must actually observe in their mutual interaction. Defining the transport policy of the Croatian operational requirements of tourism can be viewed by some proemtnim branches but also to the specific requirements of the tourist demand posed by the transport system. However, tourism demand will be seen as part of total consumption by the transport system so that it can and should be met in traffic capacity, which is formed according to the total traffic demand.
