Sažetak
The underlying structure of spherical model was analyzed with intention to enhance the typical factor analytic procedure used in previous research in this area (e.g. Darcy, 2005 ; Hedrih, in press ; Long et al., 2005 ; Šverko, 2008 ; Tracey, 2002). The Varimax rotation of solely substantial components is suggested. The sample of university students (N = 630) was administered a translated version of the Personal Globe Inventory (PGI, Tracey, 2002). Principal Component Analysis followed by suggested Varimax rotation confirmed the existence of three substantial underlying dimensions, closely related to the theoretical People-Things, Data-Ideas and Prestige dimension. The application of Varimax rotation satisfied the methodological demand for preventing the confounding of the substantial and general interest variance, but also facilitated the understanding of the meaning of basic dimensions of interests.
