Poglavlje analizira probleme s kojima se suočilo hrvatsko društvo i hrvatska sociološka zajednica u procesu uvođenja Bolonjskog procesa u sustav visokog obrazovanja. Ovi se problemi tiču specifičnosti tranzicijskog konteksta i odvijanja procesa modernizacije, a također i vidljivost sociologije u javnom životu.
