Sažetak
The correspondence of diagnosis of the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) according to two official classifications (ICD-10 and DSM-IV)was evaluated. The study included 150 patients with screening diagnosis of PTSD. Two independent psychiatrists interviewed all patients using one classification. Our results show that 128 (85, 3%) patients fulfilled the criteria for either one or both classifications. There were only 88 (68, 7%) patients that satisfied criteria for PTSD in both classifications. The ICD-10 criteria had 29 (22, 7%) ; the DSM-IV criteria had 11 (8, 6%) patients. According to ICD-10, 117 (91, 4%) patients were diagnosed as PTSD, while 99 (77, 3%) patients were diagnosed according to DSM-IV. In conclusion, there is insufficient correspondence of recent and official classifications. This may have great impact on obtaining maximal homogeneity of PTSD patients for biological psychiatric research. As the most psychiatric studies tend to be globai we must be aware of evaluation of such obtained epidemiological data.
