Sažetak
This work is a part of the scientific project Methods and models in the education of pre-school children in kindergartens, which concerned pre-school education university students. We were interested in their motivation, satisfaction, expectation, needs, competences and readiness for the assessment of children's needs and achievement. The research questions are: 1. Is there a difference between self-evaluation of own work competencies of pre-school education university students at the first and at the final year of study (same sample of students) 2. Do pre-school education university students change their assessment of children's needs and achievement during three year study, and if so, in which direction. Future kindergarten teachers (N= 108) have been asked to: 1. Perform self-evaluation of own work competencies and 2. Perform written assessment of the importance of children needs via questionnaire. It is a longitudinal study. They answered the questions when they were first year students (academic year 2007/2008) and they will be asked to fill in the same questionnaire this spring (academic year 2009/2010). This is their final year of their study – pre-school education university study in Croatia lasts three years (180 ECTS – bachelor level).The analyses and comparison of their answers during the first and the last year of the study will be performed. The results will be used for the potential modification of the university curricula..
