Sažetak
With implementation of 12 more lateral ultrasound guided transrectal prostate biopsy protocol we tried to improve prostate cancer detection. TRUS guided biopsy was performed on 301 patients with PSA and/or clinical suspection on prostate cancer. 198 of them underwent 12 more lateral core biopsy protocol and 103 underwent 12 core biopsy protocol with 6 lateral and 6 medial cores. Implementation of 12 more lateral TRUS guided biopsy protocol did not significantly improved prostate cancer detection.
