Sažetak
For some combinations of rotor speed and radial load, the pressure field of bearing fluid can perturb the pure rotational motion and disturbs the normal operation of a rotating machine. The stability analysis of a rotor in journal bearings is inherently a nonlinear problem because of the nonlinear character of bearing force. A classical approach to solve it is the linearization of bearing force around the static equlibrium position.
This paper deals with the influence of rotor damping factor and bearing factor of the Laval rotor in short journal bearings on the size of stability regions.
