UVOD Pri projektiranju zaatitnih sustava na odlagaliatima otpada va~an segment predstavlja kontrola njihove stabilnosti, koja je zavisna o posmi noj vrstoi svake od komponenata zaatitnog sustava. U posljednje vrijeme airi se upotreba bentonitnih tepiha unutar zaatitnih sustava zbog niza prednosti koje oni imaju u odnosu na klasi ne brtvene sustave. Obzirom na mali fond raspolo~ivih literaturnih podataka o posmi noj vrstoi bentonitnih tepiha, koji se razlikuju kako po proceduri ispitivanja tako i rezultatima, ukazala se potreba za provoenjem dodatnih pokusa. Ti pokusi trebali su ukazati na sve parametre koje treba kontrolirati pri provoenju ovakvih ispitivanja. lanak sadr~ava rezultate laboratorijskog ispitivanja posmi ne vrstoe nearmiranog bentonitnog tepiha poznatog pod komercijalnim nazivom Claymax 200R. Opisane su potrebne prilagodbe ureaja za ispitivanje obzirom na na in u vraenja uzoraka i njihove ugradnje kao posljedice vrlo male debljine bentonitnih tepiha. Takoer, navode se prilagodbe u proceduri provoenja ispitivanja s posebnim osvrtom na sljedee faze pokusa: priprema, konsolidacija i smicanje uzoraka. Ovakva ispitivanja trebala bi u kona nici omoguiti to nije odreivanje parametara smicanja bentonitnih tepiha i sigurnije projektiranje odlagaliata otpada tj. onih njegovih komponenti koje u sebi sadr~avaju bentonitne tepihe. 2. UREAJ ZA SMICANJE Za provoenje pokusa izravnog smicanja koriatena je modificirana kutija za smicanje izraena specijalno za tu namjenu. Poveana je veli ina uzorka na 10x10 cm u odnosu na standardnu veli inu koja za uzorke tla iznosi 7x7 cm. Takoer, zbog male po etne debljine uzoraka bentonitnog tepiha koja iznosi pribi~no 5,5 mm, u ureaj za smicanje ugraivane su dodatne podlo~ne plo ice. Pitanje u vraenja uzoraka rijeaeno je koriatenjem nazubljenih plo ica s njegove gornje i donje strane. Shematski prikaz kutije za smicanje pokazan je na slici 1. Slika 1 3. UZORCI I PROGRAM ISPITIVANJA U prethodnom radu autora[1] navedena je osnovna podjela bentonitnih tepiha sa stajaliata posmi ne vrstoe na armirane i nearmirane, te opisana problematika ispitivanja za oba tipa bentonitnih tepiha. U ispitivanjima, iji rezultati e u nastavku biti opisani, koriaten je jedan tip nearmiranog bentonitnog tepiha poznatog pod komercijalnim nazivom Claymax 200R. Razlozi za izbor navedene vrste bentonitnog tepiha su sljedei: Za razjaanjenje problematike vezane za ispitivanje posmi ne vrstoe bentonitnih tepiha potrebno je detaljno ispitati ponaaanje bentonitne gline, bez preplitanja s utjecajem eventualno ugraenih sinteti kih niti. Osim toga, ve ranija ispitivanja[2] pokazuju da armirani tepisi imaju vee vrane vrstoe nego nearmirani, no vrstoe pri velikim deformacijama identi ne su za oba tipa tepiha. Drugim rije ima, doprinos ugraenih sinteti kih niti se pri velikim deformacijama gubi, te se i kod armiranih tepiha problem svodi na vrstou bentonitne komponente. Nadalje, veli ina uzorka nije kriti no pitanje kod nearmiranih tepiha dok kod armiranih mo~e predstavljati problem. U ispitivanjima je koriaten uzorak veli ine 10x10 cm, ato se smatra dovoljnim jer je bentonitna glina koja se koristi u proizvodnji bentonitnih tepiha relativno homogen materijal, ija je ugradnja tvorni ki kontrolirana. Osim toga, vrijeme potrebno za hidrataciju je krae nego kod velikih uzoraka, kakvi su propisani npr. ameri kim standardom[3]. Veliki uzorci neprakti ni su zbog toga ato su pokusi dugotrajni i skupi[4], a esto se javlja i problem nepotpune hidratacije uzoraka[5]. Kako je pregledom literature o ispitivanjima posmi ne vrstoe utvreno da je brzina smicanja jedan od najva~nijih parametara za provoenje pokusa, napravljen je program ispitivanja pokazan tablicom 1. Uzorci su ispitani za kombinaciju od tri veli ine normalnog naprezanja i etiri brzine smicanja. Oznake odgovarajuih uzoraka koje e se koristiti dalje u tekstu dane su u navedenoj tablici. Pri tome je za serije I-IV koriatena standardna procedura za fazu konsolidacije u trajanju od 24 sata. Naknadno je na injena i serija V kod koje je faza konsolidacije trajala 9 dana, da bi se utvrdio utjecaj procedure hidratacije na rezultate smicanja. Tablica 1 4. REZULTATI LABORATORIJSKIH ISPITIVANJA Rezultati laboratorijskih pokusa pokazani su na skupnim dijagramima (slike 2-5), te u tablici 2. Slika 2 pokazuje anvelope loma za vranu vrstou dobivene pokusima u kojima su koriatene razli ite brzine smicanja. Ovisnost vrane posmi ne vrstoe o brzini smicanja za razli ite veli ine normalnog naprezanja pokazana je na slici 3. Odgovarajue anvelope loma i ovisnost o brzini smicanja za rezidualnu vrstou pokazane su na slikama 4 i 5. Pri tome napominjemo da su rezidualni parametri odreeni pri relativnoj deformaciji od 15%. Slika 2 Slika 3 Na slici 2 jasno se uo ava da se dobivaju razli ite anvelope loma ovisno o na inu na koji se provodi pokus smicanja tj. o trajanju faze hidratacije uzoraka i brzini deformiranja u fazi smicanja. Anvelope loma za vranu vrstou gotovo su paralelne, izuzev one za seriju IV. Drugim rije ima, serije I-III i V imaju sli an kut trenja, dok su im kohezije bitno razli ite. Izdvaja se serija IV, provedena najmanjom brzinom smicanja, koja pokazuje manji kut trenja. Jednad~be vranih vrstoa pokazane su takoer na slici 2 za svaku seriju pokusa, a vrijednosti kohezije i kuta trenja posebno su izdvojene i u tablici 2. Isti pokusi pokazani su i na slici 3, gdje se preglednije vidi da se sa smanjenjem brzine smicanja dobiva smanjenje vrane vrstoe pri istoj veli ini normalnoog naprezanja. Navedeno smanjenje vrane vrstoe po logaritamskom ciklusu promjene brzine smicanja iznosi 13%, 11% i 8% za pokuse provedene pri normalnom naprezanju od 50, 100 i 200 kPa. Serija V izdvojena je na ovoj slici posebno, jer se smatralo da zbog razli itog trajanja faze hidratacije uzoraka ne bi bilo ispravno dobivene to ke uklju iti u pokazane funkcijske zavisnosti. Slika 4 Slika 5 Gotovo identi na pojava pokazuje se i na slikama 4 i 5, gdje su pokazani rezidualni parametri. Tako se na slici 4 mo~e uo iti da je kut trenja identi an za serije I-III, dok su im kohezije razli ite, pa su dobivene anvelope za ove tri serije pokusa paralelne. Serija V pokazuje neato vei kut trenja, dok je on za seriju IV zna ajno manji, ak za viae od 50% (vidi tablicu 2). Na slici 5 pokazano je da i izmjerene vrijednosti rezidualne vrstoe opadaju sa smanjenjem brzine smicanja. To smanjenje vrstoe, po logaritamskom ciklusu promjene brzine smicanja, u ovom se slu aju kree od 15-17,7% za tri navedena normalna naprezanja. Serija V je i ovdje posebno izdvojena zbog istog razloga koji je naveden ranije prilikom razmatranja vranih parametara. Tablica 2 5. DISKUSIJA I ZAKLJU AK Rezultati laboratorijskih pokusa pokazani u prethodnom poglavlju neupitno ukazuju na utjecaj na ina provoenja pokusa smicanja na iskazanu posmi nu vrstou bentonitnog tepiha Claymax 200R. Analizom svih mjerenih rezultata, utvreno je da priprema uzoraka utje e prvenstveno na izmjerenu koheziju, zbog razli itog stupnja hidratacije bentonitne gline. `to je faza hidratacije dulje trajala, uzorci su primali veu koli inu vode. To je uzrokovalo razli itu veli inu bubrenja tj. poveanje visine i koeficijenta pora uzoraka koje prethodi fazi smicanja. Valja se podsjetiti da je bentonitni tepih Claymax 200R kompozit geotekstila i bentonitne gline. Bentonitna glina poznata je kao vrlo bubriva vrsta tla, koja u dodiru s vodom jako poveava svoj volumen pokazujui pri tome vrlo malu propusnost, ato je i osnovni razlog njezina koriatenja kao nepropusne barijere. No, vei iznos bubrenja bentonitne gline kao posljedicu ima i poveanje razmaka izmeu estica, manje meu esti ne sile i manje vrijednosti izmjerene kohezije. Koriatenje razli itih brzina u fazi smicanja utjecalo je dominantno na izmjerene vrijednosti kuta trenja. Analiza svih mjerenih vrijednosti tijekom provedenih pokusa pokazuje da je to nastalo vjerovatno zbog razli itih vertikalnih pomaka. Uzorci iz serija I-III i V pokazali su smanjenje visine tj. slijeganje u fazi smicanja. Ove serije imale su pribli~no jednak kut trenja. Za razliku od toga, uzorci iz serije IV s vrlo sporim smicanjem, pokazali su poveanje visine tj. nastavak procesa bubrenja, uo enog u fazi hidratacije, i u fazi smicanja. Kut trenja za ovu seriju bio je bitno smanjen u odnosu na ostale serije. Zbog iskazane varijabilnosti parametara vrstoe tj. kuta trenja i kohezije ovisno o uvjetima koji su ostvareni u laboratorijskim ispitivanjima, u kona nici mo~emo zaklju iti sljedee: U svrhu dobivanja mjerodavnih projektnih parametara vrstoe za bentonitne tepihe, bilo bi potrebno u fazi pripreme tj. hidratacije uzoraka, kao i u fazi smicanja ato vjernije simulirati uvjete in-situ. Pri tome treba obuhvatiti proces ugradnje bentonitnih tepiha u odlagaliatima otpada, postupnog poveanja optereenja tijekom punjenja odlagaliata te kona nog optereenja nakon njegova zatvaranja. Bentonitni se tepisi u posljednje vrijeme sve eae koriste kao komponenta pokrovnog i temeljnog zaatitnog sustava, zbog odreenih prednosti u odnosu na klasi ni glineni sustav. Unutraanja vrstoa bentonitnih tepiha openito se odreuje laboratorijskim ispitivanjima u ureaju za smicanje, ali je fond publiciranih podataka ograni en. Osim toga, koriatene procedure ispitivanja i dobiveni rezultati prili no se razlikuju. Zbog toga je na injeno dodatno ispitivanje unutraanje vrstoe bentonitnog tepiha poznatog pod komercijalnm nazivom Claymax 200R. Utjecaj procedure hidratacije uzoraka i brzine smicanja na rezultate pokusa nedvosmisleno je utvren. Geosynthetic clay liners are used more often in the late time as a component of the top and bottom liner systems, because of their advantages in comparison with clasical clay liners. Internal shear strength of geosynthetic clay liners is generally obtained from laboratory direct shear tests, but the fund of the published data is limited. Moreover, the test procedures used and the results obtained in that way, are quite different. Therefore, a study of the internal shear strength of geosynthetic clay liner known under commercial name Claymax 200R was performed. Influence of the specimen hydration procedure and horizontal displacement rate on the test results was obviously determined. Finally, the implications of the testing procedures on the determination of reliable design parameters are discussed.
