Sažetak
The subjects of this article are characteristics of political participation of Croatian youth in transitional period. The special attention is paid to age-structures of members and leaders of parliamentary parties, as well as to age-structures of all compositions of Croatian parliament from 1990 to 2000. Inspection of some political attitudes and behaviours of Croatian youth is added to that analysis. Further on, in that context, we analyse reasons of lack of political participation of Croatian youth, perception of optimal ways of their political activity and changes of their preferences towards political parties. Some of this results are compared with attitudes of political elite in Croatia. The special attention is paid to decision making process in Croatian parliament concerning youth and their problems. The results of research show that Croatian youth is very marginalized in transitional period, even more then in socialist one. This seems unexpected, because social and historical circumstances, which are, in theory, convenient for penetration of young people into institutional politics appeared twice in period 1990-2000. The explanation can be found in some specifics of political scene and happenings in Croatia in nineties.
