Sažetak
It is the fact that countries at all levels of development seek to increase inflow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) since FDI have the potential to contribute to the long-term economic development by generating employment, raising productivity, transferring skills and technology and enhancing exports. Since its great importance there is keen competition among developed and developing countries to attract FDI and they implement different policy measures which can help them in attracting them. In this paper we are going to analyze different types, motives and characteristics of FDI with special accent on the international joint ventures and their impact generally and on the Croatian economy particularly.
