Sažetak
For some combination of rotor speed and radial load, the pressure field within fluid-film bearings can perturb the pure rotational motion and disturbs the normal operation of a rotating machine. Modelling of the hydrodynamic bearing forces is based on the consideration that the dominant bearing force is a strongly nonlinear function of the relative journal displacement and velocity. A classical approach to the stability analysis of Laval rotor in fluid-film bearings is a linearization of the bearing force. Crandall linearized the velocity dependance of a bearing force and he established the procedure that allows a relatively simple numerical stability analysis without very tiring and time consuming integration used in more sophisticated bearing models. Following both procedures the regions of stable dynamic behavior of rotor, in terms of rotor speed and radial load, for different values of the rotor damping factor and the bearing factor are found. Nevertheless different methods of stability analysis being applied, the obtained results presented a high grade of agreement.
