Sažetak
Internet’s rapid growing promotes network applications’ evolutions. As particular network application has its special requirements for network technology, many protocols have been presented. Most of those protocols overlap and redundant in function, which result in bad performance of protocols. This paper presents an IPv6 QoS-based simple streaming transport protocol (SSTP), which arms at next generation networks and takes into account the feature of multimedia stream transmission. The protocol has been implemented and deployed in a multimedia stream playing system. This paper not only introduce the background and design thinking of SSTP, but also describes SSTP in detail. At last the article compares the performance of SSTP and RTP/RTCP, and gives the consideration about improvement of SSTP.
