Sažetak
Relationship is semantic connection among modelling elements. It is generally agreed that relationships in all their variations are important and very useful in object–oriented modelling, although the exact semantics differ between authors. That fact is present and between Rationale’s modelling language, UML (Unified Modeling Language) and their major competitor OPEN's modelling language, OML (OPEN Modelling Language). Although, UML was adopted as OMG standard and has dominant position in OO industry, the semantics of any modelling concepts in it should not be taken for grant. UML relationship semantics and specifications should be as revised, compared with similar ones and if possible improved, as OML relationship semantics will be. In our work, we will discuss, analyse and compare semantics and notations of corresponding relationships used in both UML and in OML. Beside the discussion on associations, mappings, dependencies and uses relationships, the most attention will be paid at specialized forms of association - aggregation, composition, and containment.
