Sažetak
The efficient management of large distributed systems is achieved utilizing remote control and supervision system. The main fields of their application are power distribution, drinking and waste water systems, traffic supervision and control, alarm monitoring and other large government systems. In Croatia, only electric power transport and distribution system is covered with remote control and supervision, while the others are in early phase of development. The example of Adriatic Sea lighthouses supervision is taken to identify common problems and to propose solutions to remote control and supervision system projecting. The importance of data base approach and data format standardization is emphasized.
