Sažetak
The book reflects, besides the regional variety of research, expert views on the EU integration results and future developments and the original Jean Monnet idea of uniting men in Europe. In the perspective of the 50 years of EU progress and cooperation it is somehow symbolic that this book is a joint project of institutions from different countries among which, three are part of the EU and one still a non-member. The spirit of future EU development is shown through research and study results presented in the papers of authors coming from EU member states and other countries ranging from EU candidate countries to those who hope for such status. It is worth to add, that this book presents evidence that the original roots and ideas of cooperation in Europe for the benefit of all peoples and people are still highly appreciate in practice. Appreciation is presented formally by activities of EU institutions ; the Jean Monnet projects in the area of research and education are a part of the broader Life Long Learning EU Project. Root concepts and ides which helped establish and later support the successful development of EU in last fifty years are additionally verified through the actual publishing of this book. Its publishing resulted from the many years of successful cooperation among Jean Monnet Chairs and Centre of Excellence located in different EU countries in and outside the EU. This cooperation and the present book are indeed just a small but still valuable practical and reasonable proof that EU ideas in fact unite men in Europe.
