Sažetak
In this study, a new approach to the modeling of the sonochemical processes will be presented. In order to obtain all the necessary data, the experimental study included different sets of the experiments. The efficiency of the sonochemical processes, US/Fe2+/H2O2, US/ Fe2+/S2O82-, US/ Fe2+, US/ H2O2 and US/ S2O82- was investigated in the term of a mineralization of the model solution containing formate ions. Optimal conditions were found and kinetics of the formate oxidation, oxalic acid formation by propagation and its consecutive oxidation were studied. The concentration of hydrogen peroxide and peroxodisulfate species were monitored within all the studies processes. Fricke dosimetry and Weissler reaction were made to establish the oxidative power of the ultrasonic field. A global volumetric rate of the ultrasonic energy exploitation (GRuEE) has been introduced in the kinetic models. GRuEE has been modeled as a function of the employed frequency, peak power of the transducer and reactor configuration. To define the reactor configuration, a new dimensionless number expressed as the ratio between the volume of the directly irradiated space and the total reaction volume, has been introduced in the model.
