SUMMARY
In this work we have tried to give a study of the life and work of Albert Schweitzer. The main topics, views and thesis in his philosophical reflections, especially on the civilisation, ethics and art have been discussed, as well as, Schweitzers medical views and his reinvention of the Hippocratic tradition in modern medicine . We have also tried to evaluate his legacy, his visions, his unique prophetic views and the revelance of Albert Schweitzers ideas to the burrning issues of the world today.
