Sažetak
Therapy of Alzheimer's disease, at the present is limited to symptomatic treatment. There is neither cure for Alzheimer's disease nor a proven treatment to slow progression.Treatment of Alzheimer's disease is directed either to cognitive symptoms or to behavioral changes. Cholinesterase inhibitors and NMDA receptor antagonist are useful drugs for cognitive symptoms while for behavioral changes there are a broad spectrum of drugs with antidepressive, antipsychotic and antiaggressive mode of action.
