Sažetak
The article discusses the role and development of university sector in the innovation society is seen as a new socio-economic structure based on knowledge and learning transformed into new technologies and innovations. He advocates the thesis according to which universities have an essential role in the innovation society, because economic development in the innovation society is based on the interaction of knowledge (learning), technology and economic sectors. In order to achieve this central role that universities are facing a new revolution in our development caused by the need to adapt their structures, management and operation in the innovation society. A hybrid type of networked universities could be the dominant type of new university
