Sažetak
The effect of material microstructure on stress corrosion cracking of X5 CrNi 18 9 steel has been investigated in 35% MgCl2 at 127°C. For the transformation of austenite (face-centered cubic lattice - gama) to martensite (body-centered cubic lattice - alpha) the techniques of cold mechanical preload and low-temperature heat treatment at -80 and -196°C have been used. The quantity of alpha phase in austenitic matrix has been determined by static and magnetic methods. The samples with 6 to 20% vol. martensite have been tested in the potential region of -30 to -150 mV vs. NHE and at the stress strain of 40 ; 50 ; 65 and 91% Rm. Duplex austenite-martensite steel shows higher resistance to stress corrosion cracking than straight austenitic steel does, and it can be taken into consideration as relatively new kind of engineering material for high-temperature conditions containing chloride ions.
