Sažetak
Cellulose fabrics were crosslinked with policarboxylic acids (PCA) by different wet and humid processes. Esterification of cellulose with PCA in the presence of strong mineral acids as catalysts has not been performed yet. Fabrics were catalysed with sulphuric, phosphoric and oxalic acids at various temperatures. At 60°C severe fabric damage and whiteness degree changes occurred on some specimen. At 40°C crosslinking was possible with phosphoric and oxalic acids but hotwith sulphuric acid asbreaking strength was too low. The procedure of wet finishing gave moderate but not sufficient creaseproof effects.
