Sažetak
Objective of this research was to show dynamics of changes in pulmonary function and to determine differences in certain ventilation parameters between soccer players and dinghy sailors. Total of 12 dinghy sailors and 19 soccer players participated in this study and they had average age of 22.3 and 19.5 years, respectively. Sailors were members of junior and senior national team, while soccer players were last year of juniors in soccer club Hajduk and 8 of them were also members of national selection. Indicators of respiration function were measured in resting stage on completely automatic instrument «MicroQuark PC-based spirometer», produced by Cosmed Company. Results show that there are statistically significant differences between soccer players and dinghy sailors in almost all measured parameters, and that there are positive effects of sport activities on development of respiration parameters in both groups of athletes.
