Sažetak
Students of the Maritime faculty in Split have the possibility to apply their acquired theoretical knowledge on the simulator Norcontrol, type PPS 2000. Primary purpose of the simulator is creating a virtual environments that provide students with an insight into various normal, and emergency situations in which the crew and the ship are often. Simulators can be used to analyze different situations and as a basis and experience for simpler and safer decision making in similar situations on ship. The biggest advantage of the simulator is manifested through the specific experiences gained by using it, and such innovative methods of learning have an important impact on the quality of education and especially traning. Such an approach reduces training costs and increases efficiency of the appropriate action in emergency situations on the ship.
