Sažetak
In correctly defined system of the reproduction of image records (processing system adapted to the way of recording), neutral tones should not be deformed colorimetricaly, and their shift from the neutral point can be caused only by the printing substrates with colorimetric characteristics different from the foreseen ones. Because of that, apart from the standard methods of the reproduction control (colorimetric monitoring of solid patches RGB, CMYK and grey balance) ; the system can be monitored, controlled and standardized by observing the deformations of the neutral tones from the achromatic (neutral) point. For the needs of this researches, the wedges (0-100% with the gain of 10%) of the neutral tones produced in CMYK system and in black colour were printed on digital printing machines XEROX and Indigo (the most represented machines on the Croatian market). The quality of the reproduction system was monitored and expressed by aberrations of the colorimetric values of particular neutral patches of the printed wedges from the achromatic point.
