Sažetak
The main goal of this scientific debate is to identify a function that describe, the relationship between Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as independent variable and demand for rail freight transport as dependent variable. We use regression analysis to estimate this function and use them to make prediction the demand for rail freight traffic until the year 2020. Forecasts of demand for rail freight traffic point to the doubling of demand by 2020. Despite this Croatian railways will continue to operate below the level of existing capacity.
